Not really. The truth is, the majority of Jamaicans are Christians. As a matter of fact, Rasta was frowned upon at one point. Contrary to what some might believe, marijuana is not legal in Jamaica. It only got decriminalized in 2015. This means that if you are caught with a small amount of marijuana in Jamaica, you will not be arrest but the police can issue a citation which is the equivalent of a speeding ticket. Jamaica’s main export to the world is not marijuana, it is bauxite, coffee, sugar cane and other agricultural goods.

Buggering of all sorts is illegal in Jamaica. That aside, Jamaica is not like what western media try to portray the country as. People in Jamaica are not walking around looking for homosexuals to mistreat or kill.
